Food Commons Foundation has added Hung Hom to the meal box sharing action! Last week, volunteers took part in the collection and distribution of bread and meal box sharing action in six districts, namely Fo Tan, Tai Po, Fanling, To Kwa Wan, Hung Hom and Causeway Bay. A total of 531 servings of bread and 49 meal boxes were collected weighing 81.05 kgs in total. The total number of beneficiaries was 302. We still need more volunteers to cherish food and help others. Welcome to join us!
Fo Tan: On Saturday, 92 servings of bread weighing 12.89 kgs were collected; On Sundy, 82 servings of bread weighing 10.23 kgs were collected. All servings of bread were distributed to the cleaners and members of the neighbourhood. The total number of beneficiaries was 94.
Tai Po: On Saturday, 159 servings of bread weighing 11.82 kgs were collected; On Sundy, 76 servings of bread weighing 10.4 kgs were collected. All servings of bread were distributed to the cleaners, grannies scavenging paper, the homeless and members of the neighbourhood. The total number of beneficiaries was 104.
Fanling: On Friday, 69 servings of bread weighing 10.2 kgs were collected; On Sundy, the action was cancelled. All servings of bread were distributed to the cleaners, grannies scavenging paper, security guards and the homeless. The total number of beneficiaries was 35.
To Kwa Wan: On Wednesday, 53 sandwiches (included in the total bread weight) weighing 10.96 kgs were collected; On Sundy, bakeries were closed. All servings of bread were distributed to the cleaners and the homeless. The total number of beneficiaries was 20.
Hung Hom: On Friday, 22 meal boxes weighing 12.32 kgs and 15 bowls of desserts were collected. All collected meal boxes and desserts were distributed to the cleaners, the homeless and members of the To Kwa Wan neighbourhood.
Causeway Bay: On Friday, 27 meal boxes weighing 15.12 were collected. All collected meal boxes were distributed to the homeless and members in the neighbourhood of Causeway Bay and Eastern district.
